The Path of Enlightenment A through-composed Novel by Christopher Moors 12. "So you've met McGumb," Elvington said as Zoshu fazed into dream state. "It won't be the last time you see him. Only next time he will likely be better disguised.""He was horrible!" Zoshu said. "How any entity could enslave souls like that is reprehensible and inconceivable! How does he get away with it?" "That is part of your mission Z," explained Elvington. "You are meant to forge a path for eager spirits, but along the way we expect you to take care of a few things. God has no other hands but yours. We will take you to Lord Buddha before you will be faced with McGumb again. We also want you to see your old friend the High Priestess and get some crystal protection. Even with your meditative abilities, McGumb can be overwhelming with his Guilt and ability to search the hidden recesses of your heart. If you can withstand this, you can withstand almost anything." As Elvington spoke his last words, their environment transformed into a bamboo forest with spring-like weather. In the air was complete silence/presence with an occasional cool breeze. There were several hundred monks doing simple things. Some were taking long slow steps, while others were just sitting there. Time seemed to be at a standstill. There was a small clearing about a hundred paces away. In the center was a softly radiant being upon whose countenance one could detect a slight smile. Zoshu knew without a word that he was getting the rare opportunity to be in the company of an enlightened one. Lord Buddha acknowledged Z with a slight movement of his mind. Z sat down and basked in the energy field. Originally thinking he was to receive verbal instructions, Z now realized it was a reinforcement of his connection to Source itself that was being facilitated. Z's heart chakra burst open and he was filled with an inner music that effortlessly navigated the harmonic series. The flow of vibration washed over him and Z began to sob. Harder and harder he bawled for every pain he had ever suffered. Old scenes flashed before his internal screen and he transformed each with universal forgiveness. A new feeling was making its way to the surface. JOY! Zoshu rose to his feet and moved his muscles. Flexing every limb it was not long before he was dancing and singing out loud. "Alleluia! Praise God!" he was surprised to hear himself call out in ecstasy. He tumbled to the ground laughing and laughing. Eventually the intensity of the experience cooled and grace descended upon him. A deep sense of gratitude welled in Zoshu's heart and he had a new tremendous appreciation for the miraculous gift of his very existence. He could see now that everything that ever happened to him was to get him here.
