The Path of Enlightenment A through-composed Novel by Christopher Moors 5. Zoshu entered the astral super mall and looked around. By now he got the routine of scenery change. Letting go of the details, Zoshu allowed wonder to overwhelm him as he soaked in the sights and sounds. Thousands of people and plenty of escalators. People going up and people coming down. Some looked like zombies and some had the twinkle of life in their eyes. Shops of every sort gave home to countless speckled entities. Here the human veneer was sometimes forsaken as a needless formality and the creature’s galaxy of origin is left more transparent. There were groups of the Zeta Reticulum sometimes called ‘Greys’ scuttling around. You can rarely catch one of them alone. Like cockroaches, if you see one, there are sure to be more close behind. Of course the usual pleasure shops geared towards the reptilian in all of us populated the landscape. Instinct can never be successfully bound but perhaps with patience it can be transformed. It is really humanity’s connection to the animal…our roots. Energy is neutral; it is the application which establishes the karmic parameters. Store front lights beckoned like a siren to every passerby. “Maybe after this journey is over, I’ll return for some fun,” thought Zoshu to himself. “But for now I walk on.” At this point it occurred to him that the dogs were no longer with him. He relaxed when he remembered that they weren’t actually dogs anymore, but souls who had moved through the animal process to become human spirits on the way to whatever they consciously choose to become in the future. As free as he, he knew that they’d come back around if he needed them or sent the thought. The escalator proved an irresistible lure, so he went over to the nearest one going up. He glanced over at the escalator going down and saw his father whom he had not spoken to in years. They never made eye contact and Zoshu looked ahead. Above them was a sky light showing stars rather than clouds. Zoshu got off at the next floor and moved into a shop that offered Venetian tea and cakes. Tasty and light, they made the perfect mid-OBE snack. Here he found Marah and went over to sit by her. She was relaxed and smiled. “So you found me. Really I’m just passing through.” Zoshu replied with a wink, “You know I could find you anywhere. There is a piece of you with me everywhere I go.” “How is the big journey going?” Marah asked with interest. “It seems to be treating you well so far,” as she gazed at his aura and quickened his heartbeat. She looked away. “I suppose you’ll be leaving soon as well.” “One day we’ll be able to spend more time together,” Zoshu sighed touching her hand. “It seems our lot lately has been as star crossed lovers.” Zoshu sat straight up in bed as he was shocked into attention by his alarm. “Great,” he thought, “Another day in the ‘real’ world.”
