A New Department of Education

Has it ever occurred to anybody that the Head of the Department of Education in the Greatest Nation on Earth should educate us about something? The vision and the passion to fulfill the mission of such a noble responsibility should be such that nothing could hold him back from expressing the joy of understanding with anybody who would listen.

Imagine your surprise if the television announced that the Head of the Department of Education was to present a 6 hour miniseries on the great scientists of western civilization. Instead of the uptight suit that you imagined was going to be appear, a healthy, vibrant, LIVING individual springs forth and takes your Mind on a journey of possibilities. When the show finishes, hundreds of people across the land, inspired by a new found belief in their own potential embark upon a process of discovery and invention.

This is the world that is being denied to the children of America. This is the world that is being denied anytime Fear takes the place of Love. There doesn’t always have to be some kind of objective, or plan for every second of time. There doesn’t always have to be results and proof that you are "on task". Sometimes, real relationships with real human beings reveal the most valuable lessons of all.

The Department of Education should modernize and reinvigorate the nation’s libraries into multi-media mega-plexes of fascination. Remembering the beauty of Existence is the highest priority of a happy human. All of our achievements as a species should be glorified and all of our failures decoded for the lessons that they will be able to present. Nothing is rejected and the whole of our experience moves with us into the future wrapped in a blanket of sunshine.

Your Government should not be something you Fear. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you felt that a friend was in the White House? We must accept that although everyone has human flaws, Sincerity is possible. It seems hard to believe sometimes, but there are still many who are personally bound by Truth, and many more who could be lifted up through strength.

Education is not about standardized tests or more and more enforced authority. It is also not about crushing rules and repetitive indoctrination. It is about guided exploration and the healthy development of the young soul. We must get this straight. Complacency is not allowable while TEACHERS and STUDENTS suffer every day.
